This project is for a back garden development, in Richmond. Studio Wolsey designed two new 5 bedroom semi-detached houses for the site.
The land is located in a sensitive Richmond Conservation Area. The new houses were carefully designed to strike a balance between the surrounding houses and conservation area and a desire to create houses of their time.
Studio Wolsey carried out detailed analysis of the neighbouring houses and their facades to create a design which reflects the neighbours proportions and details, but has a more contemporary look and feel.
The houses are constructed from red brick and render, with brick work detailing around the base of the walls and the windows. Internally, the houses have a front living room with bay window and large open plan kitchen and dining room which opens out onto the rear garden. In the basement there is a guest bedroom suite, laundry and family room. On the upper floors there is a master suite and a further three bedrooms.
