Flat Refurbishment
De Beauvoir, Islington
Development potential
The clients for this De Beauvoir garden flat bought it as a development project, to refurbish and then sell.
Our key aims were to maximise potential while being very mindful of budget.
Flipping it
We proposed a complete reorganisation of the internal spaces, which involved flipping the layout from its existing upside down design, to a more traditional layout. The ground floor becomes an open plan living, kitchen and dining area which opens out to the newly landscaped garden. It also houses a new bathroom.
The first floor benefits from tall ceilings and generous Victorian windows and now houses two bedrooms, one en suite.
We designed bespoke fireplaces for the living room and both bedrooms to reintroduce some character.
Selling up
The flat was fully refurbished and finished with simple and durable finishes - timeless but with character - perfect for resale. The finished flat is totally unrecognisable, and was successfully sold with a decent profit.
